Bangladesh Journal of International Law (BJIL)
Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Bangladesh Journal of International Law (BJIL). We invite original and unpublished scholarly work from academics, judges, legal practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and students from Bangladesh and around the world. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript.
The Bangladesh Journal of International Law (BJIL) is a peer-reviewed academic publication published by the Feni University Law Mooting Society (FULMOS). Established to promote rigorous legal scholarship, BJIL provides a platform for critical analysis, interdisciplinary dialogue, and innovative research on contemporary issues of international law and related fields. The Journal welcomes contributions that advance legal knowledge, encourage comparative perspectives, and address emerging legal and policy challenges at the national, regional, and international levels.
BJIL primarily publishes scholarship relating to international law and its interaction with domestic legal systems. Interdisciplinary and comparative legal research is strongly encouraged.
BJIL welcomes submissions from academics, judges, legal practitioners, researchers, policymakers, doctoral candidates, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and independent scholars.
Individual and co-authored submissions are accepted. A manuscript may have a maximum of three authors.
BJIL accepts the following categories of manuscripts:
Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
Authors should use Times New Roman throughout the manuscript. The title should be in 16-point bold, headings in 14-point bold, body text in 12-point font, and footnotes in 10-point font. Text should be justified with 1.5 line spacing and one-inch margins on all sides.
A manuscript should ordinarily include a title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology (where appropriate), substantive analysis, conclusion, and bibliography.
Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and should be accompanied by three to five keywords.
BJIL accepts manuscripts prepared in either:
Authors must use one citation style consistently throughout the manuscript. Submissions that do not comply with the prescribed citation standards may be returned for revision before review.
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal or publication.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of citations and proper acknowledgment of all sources. BJIL maintains a strict policy against plagiarism, duplicate submission, fabrication, falsification, and any other form of academic misconduct.
The responsible use of artificial intelligence tools for limited editorial assistance, such as grammar or language refinement, is permissible. However, AI-generated content must not replace the author’s own research, legal analysis, or original intellectual contribution.
All eligible submissions undergo a peer-review process conducted by the Editorial Board and independent reviewers.
Manuscripts are evaluated on originality, contribution to legal scholarship, analytical depth, methodological rigor, academic writing, and compliance with the Journal’s formatting and citation requirements.
Authors may be invited to revise their manuscripts before a final editorial decision is made. The decision of the Editorial Board is final.
Accepted manuscripts will be published in the Bangladesh Journal of International Law (BJIL), a peer-reviewed academic publication published by the Feni University Law Mooting Society (FULMOS).
The Journal follows a rolling publication model, allowing accepted manuscripts to be published online immediately after completing the editorial and peer-review process.

Each submission undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess its suitability for publication. Manuscripts that satisfy the Journal’s editorial requirements proceed to peer review.
Authors will be informed of the editorial decision following completion of the review process. Where appropriate, revisions may be requested before a final publication decision is made.
