Feni Law Review Author Guidelines

We are open to creative formats beyond this list — pitch us and we will consider it.

Style Guidelines

• FLR broadly accepts hyperlinks only as references.
• British or American English is acceptable, but usage must be consistent throughout a single piece.
• Avoid unnecessary jargon where a plainer term will do; write for an informed but not exclusively academic readership.
• Avoid first-person plural (“we,” “our”) when referring to any specific country, institution, or party other than the author’s own voice.
• Headings and subheadings are encouraged for longer research articles.

Graphics

We welcome original tables, charts, and diagrams. Do not submit images, graphs, or charts taken from other publications unless you hold the copyright or have obtained permission to republish them. If accepted, we may request raw data to reformat graphics to match FLR’s house style.

Compensation

FLR does not currently offer compensation for submissions. All contributions are accepted on a voluntary basis in support of the Review’s mission to advance legal scholarship and professional development. This policy may be revisited as the Review grows.

Plagiarism & Use of AI

FLR is committed to publishing original, rigorously researched work. Plagiarism in any form will result in permanent rejection of future submissions and may be disclosed to the author’s home institution. Submissions must reflect the author’s own original analysis and writing; content generated substantially by AI tools is not accepted. Authors may use AI tools for limited support (e.g., grammar checking) but must disclose such use to the editorial team upon request.

How to Submit

• Submit a pitch (a short paragraph outlining your proposed topic and angle) or a complete manuscript.
• Complete articles should be submitted as a Word document (.docx) or a shared Google Doc link. Do not submit PDFs.
• Include a short author bio (50–100 words) exactly as you would like it to appear alongside your published piece.
• Include your full name, institutional affiliation (if any), and contact email with your submission.
• First-time and returning contributors should use the same submission channel; please do not submit the same piece through multiple channels simultaneously, as this creates confusion for our editorial team.

What to Expect After Submitting

Every submission is reviewed by an editor. Given submission volume, we are only able to respond directly to authors whose pieces are accepted for publication. If you do not hear back within two weeks of submission, you are welcome to submit your piece elsewhere.
